Meetsysteem is the pseudonym of Amsterdam based singer/songwriter Ricky Cherim. Cherim’s eclectic and synty music is distinguished by its krauty undertones and earnestness – Sometimes woozy, always warm; a compelling balance between the acoustic and electronic.

With the moon as muse and artistic guide, came Meetsysteem’s third album ‘Gekleed in Donker, Ze Vroegen Niks.’ It’s vulnerable and charming, with productions that don’t scream, but whisper. It’s ‘Dance-in-your-bedroom-with-a-cup-of-tea: The Live Experience’.

One sluggish day, some friends walked past a vacant building. It used to house the priest of the village. After some wandering, they found a basement full of analog synthesizers, rhythm boxes and vinyls. Inspired by the found – and amount of empty wine bottles – the group decided to write a song about the priest. They adapted the moniker of the place that started it: Dorpsstraat 3.

Their music is post-punky and synth-wavey. Further inspired by music of all eras and places, together in one melting pot. Stories you haven’t heard yet.
