Grote Geelstaart + Zergüzęst

Grote Geelstaart walks the tightrope like an acrobat who could lose their balance at a moment’s notice. Carrying a mountain of gear, including two drum kits and a collection of pedals, the band orchestrates noise that enchants. Oblique soundscapes and even more oblique time signatures form a live experience that’s both claustrophobic and cramped.

On the 17th of April, Grote Geelstaart released Vracht 7, the first single of their forthcoming EP. Dont get fooled by their dapper attire – Grote Geelstaart brings daunting Dadaist-dance beats.

What consolation finds she who has lost empathy? What sound makes a world in mourning?

Somewhere between serenity and collapse is Zergüzeşt. Cinematic textures with raw distortion, protest recordings, and philosophical undertones come together in a steady post-rock/prog-rock sound. The name merges the Ottoman word for deep tale and the spirit of Zarathustra. Forming a philosophy as much as a sound. A call to feel, to confront, to question, to remember and to act.
