Meetsysteem is the pseudonym of Amsterdam based singer/songwriter Ricky Cherim. Cherim’s eclectic and synty music is distinguished by its krauty undertones and earnestness – Sometimes woozy, always warm; a compelling balance between the acoustic and electronic.

One sluggish day, some friends walked past a vacant building. It used to house the priest of the village. After some wandering, they found a basement full of analog synthesizers, rhythm boxes and vinyls. Inspired by the found – and amount of empty wine bottles – the group decided to write a song about the priest. They adapted the moniker of the place that started it: Dorpsstraat 3.
Their music is post-punky and synth-wavey. Further inspired by music of all eras and places, together in one melting pot. Stories you haven’t heard yet.
