What began as punk, rooted in the late-seventies squatter scene, grew into something that refuses to be pinned down. The Ex keeps moving. From Amsterdam to Addis Ababa, from clattering guitars to fevered saxophones. Always evolving, always chasing the next spark.

Whether it’s a legendary rock venue in Amsterdam – nearly forty shows at Paradiso, their own Ex Festival marking the fiftieth anniversary of Paradiso – an Austrian stage where the world’s free-music elite gathers (Wels Unlimited), or a damn cool underground venue inside an old prison in Leeuwarden (that’s Bea, of course): this band is so unique, it all just works.

Nostalgia isn’t their thing. The Ex doesn’t look back, but forward – curious, stubborn, alive. A band that left the comfort zone behind long ago and found something much bigger than music. “Forward in all directions.” Because why go one way when you can go them all?

Exactly. What legends.

It Dockumer Lokaeltsje - ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

Fourty years after their debut album Wil Met U Neuken!, Frisian punk legend It Dockumer Lokaeltsje returns to their roots.

February 6th marks their latest release, LOOP OF SLOOP, where everything rattles even harder than before. The band is a bullet train both in full swing and on the verge of collapse. Since nowadays, the band has more past than future, LOOP OF SLOOP marks their first posthumous release. Avantgarde and totally insane. The final tour. Take one last ride.

The Attic

The evening starts with The Attic. With drums, bass, guitar and electrical ukelele, the band writes pop-sensible indie-rock about love, loss and personal growth. Last year, they released their first EP, DISARRAY.
